Quite! We think nothing of a 5-6 hour drive from Cornwall to get on a plane, it's just part of going on holiday!

Live in Fife so Edinburgh our nearest airport but have driven to Manchester on several occasions however the return drive is horrendous so last time just stayed at the Premier Inn and then drove back the following morning.

We live Teesside and wouldn’t consider the drive home after a long flight. One year when almost home from Manchester , i had a crash into barriers over a bridge and it swerved into central barrier. No injuries as such but car a write off. We use the train now.
Two weeks ago visiting friends in Cheshire it took almost 3 hrs to get home. M62 a nightmare , roadworks here and there. Not good after a long flight.
I would sooner get a day bed if the only option was to drive

we did Glasgow to Manchester Airport by train last year and it was less stressful than Glw Airport with an overnight at the Glynhill, "that will be £200 sir" - what for - "breakfast" - we didn't have breakfast, we are booked into a lounge at the airport... "well its charged to your room... " not mine, wheres the free shuttle bus to get us to the airport - "the what? sir... "

We live north manchester. Often go from Leeds for our European holidays as prices invariably cheaper and we prefer the smaller airport.

But this year we are taking it a step further. Going from Glasgow and also from Prestwick . Both because our school hols / half terms are different from the Scottish ones so flights were literally half the price. Premier inn either before or after . No idea if we are going to find it a bind, but a bit of an extra adventure should be ok

We live 20 - 25 minutes from Manchester airport, I could not even contemplate driving to Gatwick. In the early days many moons ago we did once get the BA shuttle from Manchester airport to Gatwick.

Ditto, we live minutes from Bournemouth Airport.when we fly we are going up to Gatwick the night before. Don't trust the traffic even if we are flying at 1330. I stress to much

I live in Falmouth. It is 5 to Heathrow, 6.25 to Gatwick, 5.5 to Birmingham.
I am hoping that the new 737 Maxx and similar will make Bristol or even Exeter affordable and viable.
In the meantime, this is why I prefer a good indirect to a direct.. Heathrow is my nearest airport and this is where a large number of indirects fly from.

We're 20 mins from Heathrow. About 45 from Gatwick with no traffic. Will always chose LHR over any other London airport because it avoids the worlds largest carpark aka the M25.

East Coast Main line (Newcastle, York or Leeds) to Kings Cross, walk across to road to St Pancras and catch the train to Gatwick Airport.
