Always remember that when upgrading from ECO to PE on the way out the first 75 quid goes to the government in the extra luxury APD tax. This doesn't happen on the way back so the return leg is usually cheaper

I am with VH so can't see upgrade prices, but someone mentioned nearer the time you can upgrade direct with VA as it gets transferred over is this the case and how far out from the holiday?

Yes when I was checking to upgrade one morning it was £600pp each way, that very afternoon it was £120pp each way, we were all happy with that price so jumped on it. 😁

Well today it was over 2000! So 500 each one way lol. She did say please keep trying and for the sake of a few mins live chat I'm happy to do so.

Exactly the same for us. We had booked PE and then the difference to UC (not an upgrade as such - just fare difference to what we paid for PE) was only £200 - so I got on the phone straightaway and they changed our ticket to US. Wasn't even an upgradable fare class.
