The DDP would still exist - but just not offered free. Many people buy it now especially Americans.
I know that this summer ('18) offer for the US has been reduced to free kids dining only - hopefully that won't be the case with us.

If they don't have a free DDP offer they will still have a chargeable one and the cost of changing menu's would be minimal in the grand scheme if things if they did a way with any type of DDP. DDP keeps guests on site and in the parks for longer so unlikely to disappear completely.

At the end of the day I'm sure there will be an offer of some type but if they lose a % of UK customers by not having one it will make a very small dent in their profits if any. Also in the few days running up to when they traditionally announce the next year's offers rumours are always rife and Travel Agents deny all knowledge so only time will tell !

I thought I’d read that the kids free dining was an additional offer not replacing the normal free dining offer that comes out later in the year.

And yet TC and VH have said it's out on the 5th? This is all very odd...

Should someone not be saying that "this happens every single year"?

Beat me to it. Every year. to be fair it's usually a Thomas Cook TA who makes the bold statement.

I suppose they'll be correct one year. - maybe this year - who knows. (seriously doubt it). A broken clock is right twice a day.

At the end of the day, if Disney don't offer free DDP, they don't offer it! There's nothing anyone can do about it, I'm sure they will have another offer running instead. If we were planning on staying onsite at Disney next year (which were not) then I would just look at alternative ways to holiday, no biggy. However, take all rumours with a pinch of salt until Disney themselves announce it!

It seems strange that so e people don't believe TAs when they say free DDP isn't happening ( as they wont be informed untill its released) but do believe them when they say it will happen (when again they are unlikely to know..).

We will only know if free DDP is happening is when or if it actually happens.

Perhaps they will hold it back for a while, to try and get people to book without it!
