O2 Travel Bolt On

Looks like O2 have finally amended their Travel Bolt on to include USA like EE Max & the Three network. It's now inclusive on SELECTED refresh & sim only contracts (still £4.99 per day if not included in your contract)

Below is copied from the O2 website.

The O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Bolt On, included with selected O2 Refresh and sim only tariffs, lets you roam in 75 destinations at no extra cost. Your data, minutes and text allowances will work in our Europe Zone, just like they do at home. And you’ll get a daily allowance of 120 texts, 120 minutes, and data roaming, in 27 of our international O2 Travel destinations, including USA, Australia and New Zealand. So you can keep track of what’s going on at home, and share all your holiday pics, from the other side of the world.

Looks good but doesn't apply to me unfortunately as I haven't got an O2 Refresh tariff. I don't use my phone much though so I suspect the WiFi'll be fine for me.

This is probably a very stupid question, but if I turn off data roaming, but have my o2 phone on (let’s assume I’m not eligible for the above bolt on), if I don’t make any calls and don’t send any texts, but receive calls and texts do I get charges?

How do I know if my tariff is one of the included ones?

I'm also interested in this as I had a web chat last week with 02 and it was not mentioned and was told it would be £4.99 a day which will work out expensive over 3 weeks.

I had this very same thought so I did a search for O2 Refresh on the O2 website and I worked out from there that I don't have it - I have a normal pay monthly tariff.

If you go to the main O2 site & go down to 'More Connected' under the 'More for You' tab & then click on O2 Travel & it now shows the inclusive details.

‘Going outside of our Europe Zone? Good news. O2 Travel Inclusive Zone Bolt On is now included with selected O2 Refresh and sim only tariffs. You get a daily allowance of 120 calls, 120 minutes and data roaming in 27 additional destinations (our Inclusive Zone) including USA, Australia and New Zealand.

If you’re not eligible for the Inclusive Zone Bolt On, there’s O2 Travel, which keeps you connected in Turkey and other selected destinations, for just £4.99 a day. It lets you use the internet, talk for longer and text while you're away in selected destinations worldwide. No need to worry about overspending.

What's included?

All the data you need, 120 minutes and 120 texts, every day you use O2 Travel. Your allowance resets every day at midnight local time, and your leftover minutes and texts won’t be carried over.
Any texts you receive.’

I think this has just been released as I found some small print with the 3rd May 2018 quoted.
