Nimbus - I'm well aware ESTA application is automated, that doesn't mean a human body won't check/rescind applications if flagged at time of application or later if intel is updated. People can discuss US immigration pro's and con's forever and a day, but as experience taught us, the final decision to allow one to travel lies with the US, as does being admitted by immigration at ones first PoE, it may be wise not to assume permission/admittance is a given.

I agree with you.
I stated before that the ESTA application was automated. You said that we don't know whether it was or not. I then copied what the official website run by the people that actually do the ESTA applications say just to make it clear that we do know it's automated. It says so. Yes, subsequently the applications can be checked by a person, or a person can be flagged in the database before they apply, which would result in the ESTA being denied (this does not mean the person is denied entry to the US - just that they can't go via the automated visa waiver route). Which is what I pointed out in my earlier post above. An approved ESTA does not provide any indication or guarantee of entry to the USA. It allows you to travel to the USA without applying for a visa first, but the decision as to whether to allow you to enter the country is done by the immigration officials at the destination airport (or during pre-clearance).

Sorry Nimbus for misleading, yes ESTA is automated, I meant 'nobody knows' regarding manual checks during/after application.
Nothing from Wizard so likely his ESTA came back approved.

My comment was mainly aimed at those people who think that once they've filled in the ESTA application, it goes to someone in America who manually checks all the details and, if it looks suspicious, requests their police records from their home country and runs a Google search to see whether they have posted anything incriminating in a Disney forum, before deciding whether to approve the application or not. That doesn't happen.
I assume so.
