contemporary V Wilderness Lodge
What would you choose and why?
i love the theming of WL but love the thought of being on the monorail for the contemporary I have assumed that the contemporary pools are rubbish because of themeing ... am I wrong? |

I have stayed in both - Wilderness Lodge Woodland room and Bay Lake tower 1 bedroom. Both resorts are lovely but the Wilderness Lodge is my personal favourite as I just prefer the theming.

Not an easy choice as the rooms are bigger at the contemporary and my kids would love the monorail going through. However I would go for the WL as I prefer the theming and the pools and it’s generally cheaper

I'm discounting contemporary just because of the lack of theming, I have 3 kids and want as much theming as poss. I agree the pool doesn't look great in the pics...

I'm not a fan of the contemporary theme but I'd go there every time for the MK proximity and monorail

I have only stayed at Contemporary. I think the rooms in the Contemporary are nicer than the rooms at Wilderness Lodge, judging by photos only of course, WL look s bit dark to me. But certainly the WL public areas are much better themed.
I would stay at Contemporary for the better transportation links and to be able to walk to and from MK. |

Not a fan of the contemporary , we stayed at wilderness lodge last September and this is our favourite resort, the ease of getting on the boat to mk, and the walk up to trails end for breakfast, being able to walk round the campground.
Just love everything about it. Jules

I've only used the DVC pool at Bay Lake Tower and while small thought it was really nice.
I love both of these resorts, both very different, I'd probably lean towards WL over The Contemporary itself mainly because of the busyness of the monorail going through it and the crowds of people nosing around or eating there, although I'd struggle to choose between WL and Bay Lake Tower.

We’re staying at the contemporary for the bigger rooms and easy access to MK. I’m not fussed about the theming. Really it depends what’s more important to you- to us more space and accessibility are more useful than the theme/decor!

We’ve stayed at the contemporary and loved it, the ability to walk to MK was a huge plus for us, we stayed in the garden wing and loved the location, very quiet. The pool wasn’t as good as others resorts we’ve stayed in but the pool games for the kids were great. We visited Wilderness Lodge and thought it was also amazing, the theming was out of this world.
It all depends what’s more important to you and your family. |
