Where to stay for Manchester University visit?

Heading down for open day on the 19th of June, Manchester prices are quite high, can any dibber suggest somewhere with about a 30 min drive in the morning to the Uni. Open day starts at 10am, so will have time to do a bit of driving from the hotel. Thanks xx

Premier Inn Stockport South is £65

Rainhill is £52 but the M62 can be chaos of a morning.

Edited at 07:46 PM.

shirley where are you heading down from? Just thinking if its down on motorway maybe a services Premier Inn or Travelodge might work also? ie anywhere up to an hour outside Manchester on "your" side?

There are quite a few hotels around Haydock which would be half an hour-ish out of Manchester depending on the traffic. You would also have the option of driving in via the M6/M62 or via the A580 depending on how the traffic is that day.

DO NOT USE THE STOCKPORT BRITANNIA ! Frequently in the worst 10 hotels i the UK.

Which side of the country are you coming in from ? Just so I don't suggest something the wrong side of Manc. What kind of budget ? The Village at Bury currently 65 on the save rate.
