There are some dodgy spellings in that as in past not passed and SEVIS not service so that would worry me about it being a phishing email. It also says that no payment needs to be made until all interviews are ‘past ‘ (passed) suggesting that there are more interviews before she is accepted. I would definitely be checking the company out and phoning for more information before parting with any money

She doesn’t have £4K so she won’t be going after this one.

Absolutely right to be double checking but SEVIS is a legitimate scheme and not bad spelling;
What is the SEVIS fee? The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) uses SEVIS fee payments to fund and maintain the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), the immigration database used to process documents for international students and exchange visitors during their stay in the United States. |

This does seem excessive money upfront, but what do other places of this kind cost? The initial $3,800 is just over £3,000, but does include health insurance. The SEVIS fee she would need as studying in USA, they will be paying, but I can't find what this would cost. Have they said what hours she would be expected to work and possibility of overtime? It may be not as bad as it appears at first, I think the initial money is the big issue, but it may be that she could earn this back over the time that she's there.

Thank you, I didn’t understand that. My son works as a teacher in Vietnam, and previously in South Korea through reputable companies but he has come upon a lot of scams and dodgy contracts so it does pay to be very careful when looking for work abroad (or any job that asks for fees to be paid)

She doesn’t have the money to pay upfront and as horrible as I might sound, I’ve already got my next holiday booked so the savings I have in my bank has to pay for that. I don’t have an extra few thousand hanging around
