Volcano bay, lazy river crowds?

I think I already know the answer, but for those who have been to VB I'm interested to hear your thoughts on the lazy river. Dh and I may only do one or two rides as water slides are not really our thing, but we would want to spend lots of time in the lazy river. I can see this being unpleasant if fewer people are in queues due to tapu tapu and it is really busy and we may be better relaxing at the PBH pool and giving VB a miss.

In his 12 visits dh has never done a water park (I did the Disney ones as a kid) but as it will be a rest day I don't want to be fighting to relax on the lazy river.

TIA x

Went to Volcano bay today and thought it was awful...to say it was too overcrowded would be an understatement. We only lasted 2 hours even the kids hated it and they love water parks. To answer you about the lazy river it is overcrowded and a scatter and panick for the rings and when you get into the river itself it's bumber to bumber not one bit realaxing. There are so many people packed into this park it has ruined it for me. Sorry not a good reply and it's only my opinion other people have posted they loved it.

Not read one good report about this park. Far too small for the number of visitors expected.

Absolutely. We ran out out of it after 2 hours. I was actually concerned for my kids safety when they where entering the lazy river it was so jammed. I couldn't wait to get out of the park. I genuinely think there's a major accident waiting to happen here.

No bother just my opinion though. I know few posts have said it was fab. I was glad to be out of it and then enjoyed the rest of our day by the villa pool

When we went it was also heaving. Totally overcrowded and no personal space which I personally like, not constantly touching other people's feet!

We went about 3 weeks ago and it was dangerously busy. Especially in the lazy river. It got nasty and reminded me of the videos of Black Friday with no real system in place and everyone out for themselves. Big grown men snatching rings from children and women.. I got a ring for my son and had to hold onto him whilst he was in it whilst waiting for one for me... I had to fend off people trying to get my sons ring until I got mine. They sent one member of staff down to the water but he gave up trying as was pointless... I think a lot of the issues were frustration with the slides and queues and so were intent on getting on something regardless of how they did it

Have read elsewhere that fights have broken out at VB and I can believe that

I've read loads of good reports so don't let negativity put you off! It's a brand new park, obviously lots of people want to see it. It's weird that people don't say that Magic Kingdom isn't a good Park when it's crowded...
Anyhoo, there's still enough time in your countdown that it'll quiet out and get tighter on operations, people on here seem to be very negative about Universal in particular opening new things and having teething issues. Don't let it freak you out
