audience participation anxiety
Has anyone ever asked a cast member to be not included in audience participation?
My family would like to book things like Hoop de doo Musical Revue and go on Monsters inc Laugh Floor in MK. While I love these things as a spectator, I really would feel anxious about being picked out for any reason / shown on the screen. The rest of my family don't mind being picked out but I really would hate to miss out or for them to miss out going because i'm shy. Just wondering if anyone's ever done this before?

Not done it but I'm sure if you mention it then they will respect your wishes, they won't make you do stuff you don't want to.
However I got picked once at universal horror make up , I thought no way was I going to do it , but I did and it was really good fun . |

I've never asked, but I have this anxiety too haha. After I've done something once (such as the laugh floor) I actively avoid it, yaknow...just incase!

I was dragged onto the tarmac to dance with woody. They put a hat on me and I had to participate into a humiliating barn dance in front of hundreds including my baying family. Gutted.

I will ask - just don't want the anticipation of being picked to affect me enjoying the show - which it would
I know what you mean - I unsuspectingly did Laugh floor las year - luckily only DH got picked. Absolutely loved the show but would have been mortified had I been picked out oh no! poor you ! this sounds like my worst nightmare! Where was this? x

I don't think anything can prevent you appearing on screen in the Laugh Floor. That's why I decided to get up and leave 2 mins into the show during my last solo trip!

I think most places such as Hoop-Dee-Doo and Enchanted Tales with Belle you could just shake your head and say 'No, thank you', but the random nature of Laugh Floor I don't think you could pre-warn any CMs that you'd rather not participate.
I've said on here before that Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is the scariest attraction is Disney and I stand by that. |

I always think if you get seats near the front you are in trouble, when I got married in St Lucia a long time ago we participated in the limbo show. My husband had to limbo and a woman carried me under a fire while she limboed. We said no but apparently she didn’t understand no, I’d be mortified if I was made to do anything now!

If they pick you, you can just say no, they do ask & leave it at that if you say no.
Being an outright showoff I usually participate as I am so used to making a prat of myself it doesn't bother me any more! Someone has to do it why not me!

The best way to avoid being picked is go with me because I'm a blooming magnet for it at wdw. One visit to Monsters Inc - picked, one to Belle - picked, 2 to Hoop de Doo - picked once. And I hate it too!
