Are they as contagious as COVID19? Let's make sure we're comparing apples to apples.

You can vaccinate against TB though.
No vaccine for COVID 19 yet.

Please read what I posted :
“They are reporting on COVID-19 because it's new and different. Not because it's more prevalent or deadly than every other virus.”

There are viruses that are much more prevalent out there. And there are viruses that are much more deadly. COVID-19 is not the most prevalent virus nor is it the most deadly virus.

Here’s an extract from the Director-General of WHO:
“To summarize, COVID-19 spreads less efficiently than flu, transmission does not appear to be driven by people who are not sick, it causes more severe illness than flu, there are not yet any vaccines or therapeutics, and it can be contained”.

So, yes, compared to most seasonal flu viruses it is more deadly (mortality rate does seem to be higher) but it spreads less efficiently. Hence why there are plans in place to contain the virus to try and ensure it does not become as prevalent as flu.

Yes, and?

I didn’t say anything about vaccines.

It’s a new virus (as I said). Hence there isn’t a vaccine for it yet. Just like when every other new virus comes along.

Even though there’s a vaccine for TB but not one for Covid-19, more people die every day from TB than have died from Covid-19 in the last 3 months.

We did, we stockpiled a bit over the weeks after I posted this-now we are on almost full lockdown with all but the essential places shut.
We can still go out, but lots of rules that are being enforced, still no cases on corfu yet and supermarkets are still full with no panic buying.
