Has anyone booked the camp ground for 2 weeks and rented an RV to stay in? We've stayed in a cabins before but it's now cost prohibitive. Was wondering if This Would be a cheaper option. Would we also get free DDP if available at time of booking?

No they never give free DDP for campsite bookings.
RVs are expensive to rent- I doubt you’d save much over a moderate deal as the campground isn’t cheap either.

Looking into this as we speak. There are numerous companies that deliver the RV's to the campground and set them up for you. You just turn up. Some also throw in a free Golf cart to get around.
Looking at prices for a week, They range from about $1000 to $1400 per week for up to 10 people (they do larger), You then have to add the per night Disney prices of roughly $100 to $150 per night.If there are a lot of you (in our case 7) this works out a lot cheaper than staying in a cabin (max 6)

Thanks for that. I found RV rental prices but just couldn't find pitch prices. There are only 4 of us so might not be cost effective. We're just running out of affordable options. 😭

DH won't drive in US, the kids are older so don't want to share a bed, DH snores so need at least 2 bedrooms.

Cabins worked well as DH slept in lounge and shared the bedroom.

SSR worked okay 4 years ago but had to take inflatable bed.

Is Swan or Dolphin a lot cheaper? Could we still purchase dining plan?

Think we're now priced out of WDW 😭😭😭

I would seriously look into an offsite condo and factor in Ubers. You may be surprised that it’s likely to be workable and less expensive than you think?

We drive when we are there, and I suspect the uber costs may be less than hiring the car, paying to park, and gas.

You have never been able to purchase the DDP at Swan/Dolphin and for your group, you might need three rooms looking at what you’ve said your needs are = very spendy

Keep trying to tell DH that a condo is our only option but he says he'd rather not go at all than stay off site. I've clearly spoilt him.

To be honest, we usually stay on site but have stayed off site too and although it’s different it’s not worse, in fact some elements are better, and right now onsite offers very few benefits for the high price they charge so...

What about a hotel near Disney Springs, You would be able to use Disney buses to resorts and use the various Disney transportation to the parks for free
