Problem Sorted

So I emailed Avis Preferred on avispreferred-reservations@avis.co.uk
and explained that my husband was a preferred member and we had booked a package through BA. I sent them my husbands preferred membership number and my Avis agreement number (go & manage your BA booking, go to car hire and click print voucher - this will have your rental agreement number/reference on it). I asked if they could add the preferred number to the booking and I have an email reply (approx. 20hrs later) saying that they have added it. Result

I emailed them again today just to check that we'll be able to go straight to the garage to pick up the car and she said yes that would be fine.

Hi,

I have also booked a fly drive through BA.

Emailed Avis at same address above and 22 minutes later (very impressed with that! ) got a reply saying my booking was linked.

Not sure if this meant they have now linked it, or it was already linked - but it's linked!

However, I can't see the booking on the Avis site, which I thought I may be able to - just have to see what happens when we get there!

Hi everyone,

IM a avis preferred member already, does this mean when you go straight to the garage you just pick the keys up? Dont have to provide a credit card as its already on file on your account?

Anyone who has done this just confirm?

Cheers

We have been preferred members for a number of years, the first time I stressed about linking the 2 together, I don't bother now, all I do is walk straight over to the kiosk on the 1st floor of MCO garage, just follow the signs to Avis and give your booking reference and preferred card to the agent and they will tell which row to collect your car from, easy peasy. Just remember that with Avis you pick it up with a full tank so unless you want to pay silly price to Avis then make sure you fill the car up before you take it back. Never had to pay any additional insurances or additional driver but do leave CC details, was once charged for tolls on our card when we got back but it was soon resolved and refunded.

Thank you so much, Do you leave your Credit details with the agent then in the garage or do they already have them as they are tied to my perferred account?

Cheers
