Alamo/Virgin/Additional driver queries

I have booked a car as part of my VH package. I am the lead on the holiday booking but have named my ex-husband as the lead for the car hire.

We have additional driver as part of the fully inclusive insurance.

If I do save time, then online check in and then skip the counter will there be an option at any point to input both his details as lead driver and mine as the additional driver?

Also, do you know if the credit card is charged a deposit? If so, how much?

You can add the extra driver when you do Savetime. Nothing is taken from your CC until the car is returned the only charges will be any extras such as fuel. This will show on your return slip. If you use the tollpass scheme the charges for this will hit the CC about a month after you arrive home.

We use it frequently so for us it is worth it. If the only time you use it is on the airport run it's probably not worth it. The cost is $3.99/day it is used plus toll costs. The maximum charge is $19.99 plus tolls per holiday period.

Alamo cars are all set up for it all you do is drive through the epass/tollpass lanes. The camera recognises the numberplate and bills Alamo. The cost hits your CC about a month after you get home.

Don't do Savetime for Almo if you booked through Virgin Holidays. I did and things kinda went pear shaped! V Hols one gets you straight to the garage in one go, make sure you add the 2nd driver! You can't go back and add later.
