Yes. Yum. We eat it raw (google how to make raw sauerkraut), occasionally on hot dogs (when we do it Florida style with ketchup and mustard), and in sandwiches. I like to mix it with chopped bits of bratwurst.

Love Sauerkraut. Used to eat loads when we lived in Germany.

We cook it polish style (bigos). In the slow cooker with cooking apple, onion, bratwurst sliced, pork steaks cubed and sugar to sweeten. Serve it with buttery mashed potato. Yum yum

Used to eat sauerkraut until I watched how do they make it, and they said about how it was traditionally made (not currently made I hasten to add). They used to ferment cabbage in groin sweat whilst riding. They now fake the sweaty taste with chemicals.

Bleugh. 😵

Lol. There’s a really nice Hairy Bikers recipe for bigos. It uses tomatoes and mushrooms too so more stew like than the recipe I do. Looks yummy though, might have to try that one myself.

You could also try kimchi, a Korean spicy fermented cabbage/onion/chilli pickle. Lovely with poached eggs or cold meats.
