The yellow tags only go to US domestic fliers but international passengers can do it, but you have to collect your luggage and take it through customs and them place it back on the luggage belt.

You can then give your luggage tags at the check-in desk for MDE and they will pick them up again.

Only really worth it if your arriving in the morning and want to get straight to the park mind.

We (hopefully - tight connection!) should arrive at the hotel around 9pm and will probably just want to collapse into bed exhausted - I don't fancy waiting hours for PJs, or being woken up in the middle of the night
But international in to Chicago? How would you get the yellow tags as they don’t ship them outside of the US?

Heard from so many American guests that it’s frustrating to be waiting for for the luggage for hours.

We’ve waited long enough when we’ve had bags transferred between resorts! IMO this only works well for those domestic arrivals if you have an early arrival and plan to head to the parks straight away - and stay until late afternoon.

Unless you struggle with the bags it isn’t worth it at all for those that arrival from outside of the US!

being classed as domestic is irrelevant re:Magical Express

what matters is where you live

you need the specific yellow tags for magical express. It only ships in the US
so you may fly indirect, arrive as a domestic passenger ... but if you don't have the yellow tags, you don't have the yellow tags ...

international/domestic arrivals do not make a difference reME

A US resident who would happen to fly on a LGW-MCO plane for example, and who would have received their tags before heading out to the UK, would be able to get the automatic pickup (granted they put their bags on the second bag claim carousel
while a UK resident spending a few days in New York (for example) then flying down to orlando, could not use the system (direct) as they wouldn't have received their yellow tags

you could go to DME desk and give them your baggage claim stubs though, but it would take even longer, and at a somewhat higher risk of luggage loss.

No point for UK travellers. It is perfectly easy to take your cases to the Magical Express. Someone will put them in the luggage storage area at the bottom of the coach for you, and get them out the other side. Bell Services can then help you if needed. When we arrived at SSR, we and our luggage were taken in a golf buggy to our room and a CM brought the cases up.

Firstly, you have to collect your luggage anyway to clear customs (unless you are flying indirect) so may as well just keep it with you.

Even if you decide not to the biggest issue for me is that your luggage (if you place it back on the belt after customs or arrive indirect) then gets sent over to the main terminal and is going around on the baggage belts until it is collected. This bothers me personally!

And lastly, they can take up to 4 hours after you arrive at the resort to deliver you luggage
