Any pitfalls doing 2 and 10 rather than 10 and 2 nights?

My reasoning is that we can live out of a suitcase for 2 nights rather than getting everything unpacked and being settled and then have to move.

It would also mean our first morning could be MK by boat!
This is up to you, but I’d much prefer a 6/6 or 5/7 split rather than moving after basically just one day. Unpacking a few cases for nearly a week isn’t really an issue, the first day you are tired, and it is nice to properly settle and enjoy each location. If you are just 2 nights at Copper Creek, you’ll get there, eat, go to bed, be at the park next day, then leave, you will not properly experience the resort.
I’m doing 11 nights at Xmas and doing 6 Beach Club where I will concentrate on Epcot and HWS and 5 Bay Lake where I will take it a bit easier and do mornings at MK (get out for lunch) and maybe go to Disney Springs and Animal Kingdom.
I’ll warn you- after the holiday if you have the cash you may start wanting to look at a DVC contract for yourself.

Thanks - yes, will look into a more even split but it may depend on budget.

Yet another question!

There seem to be two kinds of offers on the Dibb.

One is specific to a resort - so “150 points available at BCV before x date”.

The other is for points available “to use at any resort”.

How does this work?

I thought if you own at a resort, you rent points out for that resort? Or am I wrong?

All DVC owners can book at any of the DVC resorts, not just their home resort. However, owners can book at their home resort 11 months from check-in but other resorts can only be booked 7 months from check-in.

If you have your heart set on a particular resort it makes sense to find an owner at that resort as they will have the 11 month booking window advantage.

Or go to David’s which is easy, but may cost a bit more.

If you want to travel during food and wine festival, you will probably need to find someone who will rent boardwalk points to you and book the 11 months in advance as availability is pretty difficult to get

Yes, I suspected as much!

We are looking at November so yes, during F&W.

I would never buy the DDP, you will have to pay for it in dollars if renting DVC points and I believe this works out more than when you buy it in the U.K.
You can most definitely go to good sit down meals have your snacks etc for less money.
We have only ever had the free DDP and even my teenage boys can’t eat it all. To get the best value we have gone to Buffet but the food is not that great, I would not go if I was paying out of pocket. Despite the DDP being free the tip at the Buffet is ridiculous.
You should certainly add up what you would spend eating in the restaurants to work out if you are better off on the DDP or not.
