Virgin holidays sale prices
Is it just me or does anyone else think that Virgin have lost the plot with their prices recently.
Their “sale” prices are significantly more than before the sale and they will not budge any more. I’ve just booked an identical deal directly with BA for just short of half of what virgin wanted. |

They have increased and they have also now actually added on the 10% they are now taking off, but if you don’t track prices you would never know . Tui prices have been very high but they dropped yesterday but still not enough .
Apparently though this is one of the busiest weekends for holiday bookings so you can see why they do it . Wait until 2 weeks time and they will drop down to realistic again ,

I just checked my holiday and it would have been over £900 more expensive than when I booked it.

In my experience when looking at packages prices always went
Virgin>>>>>>>TUI>>>>Thomas Cook. No prizes for guessing who I booked with. I should note mind that TUI actually came up more expensive than both virgin and TC last year for a lot of my searches. Amazing really as I didn't think they had the brand loyalty to do that like virgin does. Interesting note about this being the busiest weekend of the year for holiday bookings. Given that I think I'll hold of on my searches and see how prices change in the next few weeks...

Up until last week we had been planning to go with Virgin for December but when the sale started i noticed there was no change to the prices then checked BA and found it 700 pounds cheaper! All booked now with BA for the same dates and actually upgraded to a better hotel but still saved 500 pounds

Ive been keeping track of prices on Virgin holidays for the last 4 weeks.
Since the sale its gone up £50 since the 10% off this week the holiday was the same the car hire part was an extra £300 Its not a sale if youre paying more.

I was also looking before the sale and while the cost of the package hasn't really gone up for me the PE upgrade cost has nearly doubled (over £1900 for two). I am looking at December so will wait until flights get released, then see what prices look like then.

Ive done another post but in the shop today they quoted me £2600 for 18 nights fly drive and car hire over Xmas.
if I included a week on IDrive it added £200+ to the quote. This is for 2! people!. I reckon that at least £800 more than I can do it DIY. We are looking 16 Dec - 6 Jan so patiently (or not!) waiting for fights to be released. |
