Possible helicopter crash in Manhattan

Reports are coming in from Manhattan that a helicopter has either crashed or had a hard landing in Midtown - looks like the AXA building on 7th Avenue and W 49th.

Mo reports of fatalities yet but ongoing situation.

My Son and his Partner walked past the location 5 minutes before it crashed. Rainy and misty day there.

Reports of maybe 1 fatality.

Reports of one fatality after it took a hard landing on a roof.

So sad, thoughts to the families of those involved

I think they're saying the pilot was killed.

Very sad. I flew many hours in them whilst working. Hate them with a vengeance. I will never get in one ever again.
Far too prone to mechanical failure.

My wife wanted myself and our granddaughter to do one of the helicopter tours when we went to Orlando. I told her there was no way that I would do it, and I wasn't happy for the granddaughter to do it, so she didn't bother. If she had done it with my granddaughter I would have been a nervous wreck until they landed, I just don't trust helicopters. Maybe I am being irrational but that's they way I feel.

Donald Trump was always very picky about which helicopter he'd get in, had to be a certain kind with excellent safety record. He was in them all the time when he had his Atlantic City casinos. Once his was broken so his people ordered a different kind. He refused to get in it, but his top executives did. It crashed and killed them on way back to NYC.

Did a tour of duty with 22 Sqn, SAR , westlandcsea kings, had to do the tank drop in the pool, in darkness, not at all funny.
Hated the bloomin things since, never felt safe in them.
