Miami airport hotel

We stayed at the Hyatt House Mii Airport. Only 5 mins drive and approx 20 mins to Ocean drive. This is a suite property so plenty room and kitchen facilities.

This hotel was lovely and the breakfast absolutely amazing. So much choice and so fresh.

We like a suite hotel so if either of us wake up early/not ready to sleep we can get up make a cuppa and lounge around without disturbing the other the way you do in a hotel room.

We have stayed twice at the best western miami airport North, clean, spacious room, good price and breakfast included... would recommend

Also, because you’ll likely wake up early, you’ll be able to collect your car before any arrivals rush and get moving on the drive north.

I second this. The Miami Airport hotel is basically a lift ride to the next floor from arrivals. With 2 exhausted kids, we walked 10m to the Burger King, walked the 10m back to the hotel front desk and we were in our room in a few minutes. The next morning we got up, and walked through the airport to collect our car from the Avis desk. It wasn’t the Ritz, but it was ridiculously easy, and we were out and away really early the next morning, for a breakfast stop in West Palm Beach.

With the car, it’s done in 24 hour increments, not different days. So unless your return flight is crazy early in the morning, you don’t save any money by picking it up the morning after you land.

Not if you are flying on a fly drive package with BA. We have done this a few times, we stay at the Sheraton because we like it and it’s so close to the car hire garage. DH also can have a drink on the plane. We get the hotel shuttle and in the morning walk across to get the car. It’s always been less money picking the car up the following day. As far as I’m aware, BA also give you leeway in the drop off/collection times.
