Thank you all so much.
A long fought for, much needed neurology appt to hopefully follow his career dreams he’s chosen. Ds is only 15. It looks really positive, fingers crossed it will be definite next week or two. Thank you all xx knowing someone out there cared this morning, when my nerves were having a wobble, made a big difference. Drove 100 miles to Liverpool, fast becoming my favourite City.

So a little update...he flew solo today! Lockdown caused so many issues with getting time to fly but today at the ripe old age of 16, he flew solo for the first time.

He’s following his dream to gain both a private and commercial pilots licence. He’s just 16 and was born very early so we had a lot of medical clearances to battle through, seemed to be new territory for many medics. That was the pixie dust needed, involving a 100 mile trip to a hospital where he was born. But after five months of that, he was finally cleared

but then prevented by lockdown.!

Currently he can train as he is a potential commercial pilot so is allowed. He works every weekend at the flying school who pay him in flying hours credit. Today he flew a plane solo, no one else with him, took off, flew around and landed again.

It blows my mind!

This is a fantastic achievement! I must have missed your original post, my eldest son who is 22 also trained for his private pilot’s license last year, he is not able to afford the commercial license yet but has a share in a small aircraft about an hour away from us and flew solo over our house on Christmas day, I was proud but also terrified! Your son is so young and clearly very determined congratulations to him x

Done to your son.
Yes the cost of training worries us a great deal but at the moment he’s self funded and enjoying the challenge so long May that continue. I shall keep buying a lottery ticket and dreaming what could be.
Sounds like your son is doing fab as well! Getting close to completing?
