It was a bit scary at first because I walked straight towards the mother without realising. I suddenly heard a noise looked up and I was about 6 feet away from a huge mother bear. I did exactly what you shouldn't do, screamed and ran away. Fortunately she wasn't interested in me she just grunted and walked off. She wasn't interested in her Cubs either they were way behind her. We saw another bear the same day whist we were hiking. It was on our first full day. We didn't see any more though after that.
