Can I ask if you have been to Anna Maria Island and if Kiawah or HHI are like there?

I have been to Anna Maria for the day only. They are much, much larger. HHI is bigger than kiawah I think. HHI has loads to do on it. It really is a proper destination. They are both fantastic.
Kiawah is maybe less built up than HHI if that’s what you are wondering about. I would , and probably will , go back to both places. Kiawah would be for maybe 3/4 days but I could easily do a week at HHI. Edited at 12:07 PM. |

We stayed in Gatlinburg in the Smokies this summer for 4 nights. The cabin we stayed in was beautiful but I have to be honest and say we were totally underwhelmed with Gatlinburg in general. Very busy traffic wise, very commercialised, a bit 'Blackpooly' (nothing wrong with Blackpool btw), expensive. Pigeon Forge a bit like the 192. I'm glad we've been but it isn't on our return list. Any questions, just ask

We had an Airbnb in HHI. It was on Port Royale Spa. The view was stunning. Right on the beach. We are not beach people so went on it one morning for a look. Seen a few horseshoe crabs and literally hundreds of fiddler crabs around the pools of water.
We love the low country landscape it’s just so beautiful. |

On a trip a couple of years ago we went through a few nice places in the Smoky mountains. One stand out was a small town called Maggie Valley, Very old world America, Just off the I40, ALSO Cherokee was nice.
