Premier Inn London issue
Back in February I booked to stay two nights in the PI at Leicester Square London as we have tickets to see Mary Poppins.
Last night at around 22:45 I received a phone call from PI stating that they have no hot water until Monday and therefore need to move my family and I to a different location. I was offered Farringdon and County Hall. I’ve chosen County Hall although we have stayed there before and weren’t impressed. I know that when I booked Leicester Square it was the most expensive of the PI’s and therefore asked the very abrupt member of staff if I would be receiving a refund for the difference in price. She said that if there was a difference on the day of check-in then I would. Obviously PI prices nearly always rise as you get closer to your stay so it doesn’t look like I’ll get the rate that I could have booked at back in February. I realise that they can’t help not having hot water but I’m really annoyed as I’ve booked all my stay around staying in Leicester Square. Does it sound unreasonable to ask for the nightly rate to be reduced to what I could have paid in February at time of booking?

That doesn't sound unreasonable to me- I'd email PI and complain. Ask them to tell you what the price difference between the two was on the day you booked. I don't see why they think the rate on the actual day is more important than the rate at time of booking.

I don't think that's an unreasonable request at all. I've normally found PI customer service to be very good, and don't forget they do offer the good night guarantee.

That sounds absolutely fair to me. If you don't ask you don't get and all that.
