What kind of prices for VA sale Aug/Sept

I’ve had some villa dates set aside for the 16th May 2020 for 14 days. The flight prices at the moment vary from £700 - £800 for those dates. Way more than I want to pay.
I’ve looked at flights leaving the 29th and they are coming out a lot cheaper, approx £430 pp. I’m now just waiting for a reply from the villa owner to see if they are available.
Now my little question is, do the prices come down in the August/September sale or even in a few weeks time when those dates (16th May onwards) have been out for a while
I just wondered if anyone had any previous experience of booking for May, and in the sale etc...

I think someone mentioned virgin prices going up this week which suggests a sale is coming, personally unless a stunning deal popped up I would not book before Xmas to get the best price.

I watched flights all last year to see when they were the cheapest for May. I did find them to be cheapest in August/September so I’m waiting till then.

I mentioned it on one of the threads that the price for our holiday had gone up by around £1500 since we booked mid-late June for May 2020.

That could have been caused by VA only just made the return flights available in the past few days for our dates, usually that puts the prices up and then things start their natural fluctuations.

I'm hoping that the costs will come down soon so that i can try getting a reasonable price for changing from AOA on our villa to a named location.

The prices with VA for my dates (9th may 2020 to 23rd May 2020) dropped on Monday (which is when I decided to book), and have dropped a little again today (only by £30 total for our party of 3). I know I shouldn't look, but I'm interested to see if they go much lower, and what is the best time to book when I look in future years.

A couple of my siblings are heading out 16th - 30th may 2020, and I'm interested to see if the flight prices for those dates with VA will also drop this Monday coming or not.
