Cheap (Safe) Hotels in New York

We stayed at the Edison hotel just off Times Square. It was clean and a big room. Booked as part of a BA fly drive so can’t really tell you how much we paid per night. We also used the hop on hop off buses, very easy to use.

Another vote for the Comfort Inn West, we had a very nice stay there and it’s well situated.

We've stayed at the Skyline Hotel on 10th Avenue, which was a great price and also has the added bonus of an indoor, rooftop pool! 2 blocks from subway and easily walkable to Times Square, Rockefeller Center etc.

We've also stayed in Queens at the Country Inn & Suites. Good hotel with views of Manhattan skyline and free breakfast. 2 subway stops from Manhattan and much cheaper!

Thanks Anji. Just did a dummy booking for next September, its coming out at just under $500 for 3 nights, which seems very reasonable.

I'm going to have a look at how near it is to different places, the best way to get to them and also how far to the Cruise Port.
