Can anyone go and have a look? Is it like all the other Disney properties where you can look around the hotel?

Yes. You have to pay for parking. I would park oppposite at the shops / restaurants and walk across the road (couple of minutes max). I think, but not sure, if you pay to park at Aulani you can redeem to parking cost against spends at Aulani (not sure, it was free when we parked as we are DVC)

Yes look around. Shop. Restaurants. Not allowed to use pools or line up for characters. Beach is a public beach
