Hotel style preference is personal, but in absolute quality terms, the Lotte NY Palace is a cut above the other two properties. Not a big fan of the Grand Hyatt myself, but many people like it. Of those three, I’d be at the Lotte.

I haven’t been to these others, and perhaps more basic (nice rooms, great staff but no fancy lobby etc), but I found the Courtyard Chelsea to be excellent. Great views, great location, family rooms are very spacious. Personally I’d also avoid any hotel near Times Square, it would drive me nuts stopping in the middle of that.

We stayed in the Lotte this summer. Fantastic view of Rockefeller especially at night and down into St Patrick’s cathedral. There were a few minor issues (took ages to make up the kids double sofa bed, even then only one pillow!) but nothing that would put me off. The location was fabulous.

We stayed at the Rui Plaza in Sept - it was fab - one of the nicest hotels ive ever stayed in. Really modern - nice staff - breakfast was included - everything you could want waffles, pancakes, hot and cold food - a few minutes from time square - great location. Would really recommend - we asked for a nice room as both myself DH and DD were celebrating special birthdays and they upgraded us to a junior suite with a sofa bed - really big - a river view and a box of chocolates - would definately go back.
