Mobile Premier in type place in Nottingham?

Inspired by the University kids thread have decided to visit our granddaughter next week so thought we would make a night of it. Any suggestions please?

There is a nice Premier in at the top of the high street. If you don't mind the basics there is an IBIS just on the outskirts of the pubs and clubs. There is also a Premier inn and Jury's inn both right by the train station. Have stayed in all of them due to the Ice hockey, and all are good.

I'm a fan of staying a bit further out from busy Towns and Cities. Not Motorway ones as they tend to be busy plus I like places that have plenty of parking as I hate having my car boxed in tight.

We are in the Alfreton one tomorrow as we are visiting our Daughter albeit that's too far out from Nottingham. Is there a Travelodge as they tend to be a bit cheaper but not as nice.

There is a Premier Inn right by Nottingham Trent university. also a travel lodge nearer the ice rink.

There is also a Premier inn just of the motorway next to the tram line. We stayed there and took the tram in on our first visit.

My son went to uni in Nottingham and has stayed living there. We like the Premier Inn by Nottingham Arena. It has free parking (a must for us), is within walking distance to the center, provides a lovely breakfast, and is very quiet - even being on a major road.

I have just noticed typo in title and can't alter it.

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far.
We don't need to be in town as she has moved out into a house now and we also want free parking.
By the way I stayed at Jurys Inn on a hen night, I had totally forgotten what it was called so thanks for the memory jog.

theres a travelodge in the city centre on Maid Marian Way which is fine for the night, but in the city centre you may have to pay for parking as well if you're coming by car. Theres a travelodge at Riverside too, which is close to town, you can get the bus easily to and from the hotel there, and its not far from 2 retail parks.

There are loads of Premier Inns, theres also the De Vere Jubilee Conference Centre hotel, which is actually on the Jubilee campus for Uni of Nottingham.

We stayed at the holiday inn, near the river when visiting Dd at Nottingham uni. Some chain restaurants close by, beefeater, pizza hut. Also a big Sainsbury's, Dd also wanted to visit as it was bigger supermarket than any she could normally get to. Free parking too.

If you want an American burger fix, recommend Annie’s Burger Shack.

Google the menu, it’s bonkers!

nottingham resident here. there's so many hotels in the city centre, its ridiculous! any of the ones directly outside the city centre should have free parking, like the park inn (Mercure Nottingham Sherwood) which is 5 minutes bus ride into the town centre.

if you let us know whereabouts you are going exactly (what area is your DD living in?, whereabouts do you plan on going?) i can suggest some specifics.

as for food, avoid the chains, go for one of the great independents we have here. theres something for everyone, but here's a few to start you on...

burgers - annies burger shack (as previously mentioned) - anniesburgershack/
pizza - oscar and rosies or suede - oscarandrosies/ and facebook/SuedebarNottingham/
steak - son of steak - sonofsteak/
fish and chips - the cods scallops - if you stay at the park inn above, the carrington branch is directly opposite! - codsscallops/
japanese - kushi-ya - kushi-ya/
fine dining (alchemilla recently won a michelin star and sat bains got TWO!) - alchemillarestaurant.uk/ and restaurantsatbains/

if you want to know anything else, just holler!
