Weather in Phuket july/august

Looking for something different next year Bangkok, Khoa sok national park area then Phuket. Was wondering about the weather as its rainy season. Went to Malaysia many years ago in the rainy season which was ok. Has anyone been that time of year.

Many thanks

Hi, a few years ago we went to Khao Lak in August and it was lovely and hot. We had a a few heavy showers for a couple of days that lasted an hour or two but that was all, it absolutely didn’t stop us doing anything. I would certainly go again at that time.

We did Phuket in July in 2016, fully prepared for daily showers but we actually didn't see a spot of rain for the whole week we were there! Only began to rain as we were heading to the airport to leave for Hong Kong. I would expect showers but probably not enough to ruin your holiday, only thing I would say is the sea was pretty rough even without rain, there was a world of difference between then and when we returned in January of this year.

We were there a few days in August quite a while back (2004 or so). Don't remember any rain.

Back end of July and August is rainy season.

If looking for beaches Koh Samui and other gulf of Siam locations such as hua hin are notably drier at that time of year. KS is lovely. Much more laid back than Phuket.

We went this August, 3 nights Bangkok(not a drop of rain but very cloudy and hot), 7 nights Phuket(1 day of heavy showers, otherwise sunshine and scorchio), 3 nights Hong Kong(hot hot hot).
