Don’t give up on rescuing. It’s immensely rewarding. We’ve had our girl from 4 months and we’ve had no where near the problems that my friend who bought a puppy has had. We can leave her for hours to go to work and she’s a sweetheart. My daughters are usually off for two days in the week as they work weekends. We are off at weekends so she’s not on her own very often but there can be a day when we are all at work and one daughter comes home at lunchtime to check on her. She gives us hardly any problems now. She’s not great on a lead and I’d like to cure her penchant for my cushions, otherwise, she’s perfect.

Thank you.
We are keeping our options open. Following a few rescue centre pages on Facebook and will keep looking.

What type of dog are you looking for? We have two lurchers that came from Greyhound Rescue Wales.
Greyhounds/lurchers make fantastic pets (once they settle in!) and sleep a lot too

We're quite open to any medium size dog. Nothing with really fine hair or that needs walking for miles every day. I will be doing the walking before and after work. Hubby doesn't work anymore due to ill health, so we need a dog that will be good company for him too.

Good luck with looking for the right dog. My son has just picked him up from a rescue center, hes a terrier cross but they dont know what hes crossed with. Hes quite small at the moment our labradors head is bigger than him, they have called him woody.

Sorry it didn’t work out this time, it took us a little while to find our rescue dogs. Our current one was 5 when we got him and is a lovely chap, so affectionate, good with dogs and on the lead, the only shortcoming is that he is clingy and doesn’t really like being left too long but we did know that.

Even though dh and dd knew they wanted him straight away I wouldn’t make a decision until we had been home and thought about it, first time we adopted we didn’t do this and in hind sight we may have thought twice about her given her breed because she needed much more input than we anticipated!

Thank you. We are feeling more positive about it today and will wait in the right fit for us.

I’m sure it was really difficult but you’ve absolutely done the right thing walking away if it’s not the right dog for you. Fairest thing for the dog too. As well as local rescues have a look for breed rescues as well. It might also be worth contacting a few local vets and seeing if they have contacts, know of any dogs that need rehoming.
