Mobile Tipping housekeeping staff?

Hi guys

Last day here in Orlando; this time tomorrow we might be having our first cup of tea for two weeks!

We've stayed at the yacht club and can really recommend, lovely hotel and great location.

Just a quick question; do we need to leave some dollars in our room as a tip to housekeeping? I only ask as we have had various members of staff and not the same one.

Thanks 😀

Usually you would tip daily due to having various staff members.

Firstly, mousekeeping isn't a tipped position - so there is no obligation or expectation of a tip.
Usually when tipping housekeeping, you would tip each day - around $2-3 dollars (or $1 per person). This is obviously because, as you say, you have different cleaning staff each day.
If you want to leave a tip before you check-out then feel free, but I wouldn't leave too much as it won't be shared among all the staff who have cleaned your room and will be kept by whoever cleans it today. But like I said, it isn't a tipped position so you are in no way obliged to leave anything and it is totally at your discretion.
Hope you've had a great time x

I don't tip. Non tipped position. They had a vote and decided not to make it tipped. However, if you want to tip, tip however you want, anything is a bonus in a non tipped position.

We always tipped $3 each day (3 of us in the room) at both OKW and Portofino.

Don't know if it helped, but we were very well looked after in both hotels by the housekeeping staff and we got plenty of towels and coffee each day

Big fat NO tip from me. It’s not a tipping position, unless they did something on a particular day that I thought merited something , I would leave it then. Apart from that.

We tip daily. At least $1 pp. but often round up ie: $5 for family of 4. There are 7 of us next week at okw and we will probs leave $7/8 per day. I’ve factored this into our overall tip costs.

You don't have to leave a tip if you don't want to. You are under no obligation to leave a tip for housekeeping. It is not a requirement. Some people do, some people don't.

However, if you choose to leave a tip, then it's generally considered a good idea to leave a few dollars each day rather than a larger amount at the end of your stay. That's because there will be different members of staff tidying your room each day.
