staying near convention centre
My DH might be going to a conference in october 2019 so I would like to go with him.
I am assuming he will want to stay near the convention centre and we will not have a car. I think I might just want to go to Universal but cannot decide about WDW. Has anyone any advice for hotels near the convention centre and how you can get to the parks easily. I am assuming it is at Orange county Convention centre- I am not lucky enough for it to be at WDW Thinking of giving WDW a miss due to possible crowds due to Star Wars - which I would love to see.

I've stayed at the Rosen plazza hotel near the convention centre.
I really liked it. Very near to pointe center too. I took a taxi or they arrange park transfers in the hotel. It costs a lot less but you need to book. The bus picks you up across the road a little. |

The Hilton, Rosen Centre, Hyatt Regency and Rosen Plaza are all close by the convention centre.
Stayed in the Hilton, though a few years ago now, it was fine but unremarkable. Only visited the public areas of the Hyatt and Rosen Centre, both of which were decent enough. All my visits to these hotels were while working, so didn’t really explore facilities beyond bars and restaurants. If you’re not going to WDW, most attractions are reachable quickly by Uber at a reasonable price from this area (if they don’t have shuttles). Edited at 10:07 PM. |

DH has stayed at the Hyatt Regency for a huge conference (30,000 delegates). When the hotel was telling him that all the conference rooms were sold out, he managed to bag himself a club room by booking it as a BA holiday with his flights and car!

We've stayed at The Hyatt Regency and The Rosen Plaza, both lovely hotels but The Hyatt Regency had a nicer room, it also had a TV in the bathroom mirror.
