1 hour 45 minute connection

Is a 1 hour 45min connection long enough at Newark airport? There would be 7 of us in total including one toddler. I don't think its long enough but hubby thinks it plenty of time.

Average wait times at Newark immigration is 60 mins at peak times (awt.cbp.gov).

Even if your plane's on time, you have to get off, clear immigration, pick-up and re-deposit your luggage, go through security then find your gate.

Also, are you likely to be changing terminal?

I'd be looking for 2:30 minimum there. All comes down to how relaxed you are about possibly missing the connection and how many more flights to your final airport there are.

Outbound or return? It's fine on the return as you'd just have to change planes, but I'd like a bit more time outbound for everything mentioned above.

If this is on the way out, we look for 4 hours. I wouldn't book a connection this short. What if your inbound plane is delayed - how much contingency do you want?

Thanks for the replies. I guess it's back to searching again! If it was just the two of us I might have risked it but with 7 it's just not worth the added stress.
