16 days - 14 days ticket, resort day 1 or last day?

16 days holiday, 14 days ticket. Last week of June, first of July.

Initially my thoughts were - lets chill the day after arrival, get to publix to get spf & water and some other supplies, swim at the resort and wonder around Disney Springs. Early dinner. Hit the parks the next day. But... we will be up at 3 am that day due to jet lag. It feels little silly not to hit the parks. And usually at the end of vacation we feel done with the parks and we enjoy other activities more. What would you do?

I could upgrade the ticket too but the next price tier is for 3 weeks and the reality is that we most often feel trully done with the parks after day 10 and last few days of the trip tend to do other activities

I think you e probably answered your own question. Having said that, we usually have a chill out day the first day as so tired but this year we are heading to universal first and only have two days so we will have to be on it!

By 16 days, do you mean you fly out on a Thursday and fly home on a Saturday ? So ignoring fly out day and fly home day, you have 15 full days in the middle ?
In which case, because Disney tickets actually last 15 days , you can go in on both the first and last Fridays so long as you have one day off in the middle ( so 14 days of visits )

I presume you are just doing Disney ?

Oh, and if you are normally done with the parks anyway after 10 days, sounds like you need to spread your non park days out a bit anyway, so the magic stays all holiday

There is this element of it as well. We get tired and grumpy by day 3 or 4, perhaps taking it easy day one would make sense

Usually we get right on it and do mk first day, next time we're totally changing it up. First full day villa/resort pool, Walmart shop, tea at Disney springs ready for full 2nd day at Park, need to decide where we want to be at the end of the holiday as we're doing 3 wks but only getting 14 day tickets and staggering the start date. But can't decide universal to end on or Disney? My kind of dilemma. 😁

We're going for 17 nights this year instead of the usual 14. We only have 14 day ultimates but are spending the first 2 full days shopping or at universal. Looking forward to doing something different than a disney park the first day.

Going for 17 nights. On 1st day AFTER we arrive our plan is to do the whole "chill/Publix thing but then spend the evening in SeaWorld as we have the 3 park 14 day tkt. Hopefully nobody sleeps on the plane & we all get a proper nights sleep at the villa & don't wake at silly o'clock.

I have universal and sea world tickets so going to stagger them. Going to use universal the first three days and then seaworld for the remainder 14.

If staying on site with tickets included in the booking I was under the impression they activate on day of check-in.
