"Upgrade yourself" Aer Lingus?

*sorry for all the Aer lingus posts today

Booked our flights with them today and just got an email about "bidding" for upgrades to business class.
Is it worth doing? Anyone been successful with a bargain?
We're flying Jan/Feb so not too busy a time

We use it when we book with AL.
We generally go for 50 euro over the lowest possible bid. We sort have a target total of £1200 for a business fare in total.
We have been successful around 1 in 2 (50%) of the time. AL Business is superb.

Interesting as we always get this option. Not sure if we always get the email tho. But we definitely always have the offer when we go to our booking.

I have often wondered was it because we have children and they wouldnt want children in first class! My children are 9 and 14 now though!

Was successful with DD last year. It was not cheap but still way less than a business class ticket. She was very happy to be sat up front with us!

AL business class product is pretty decent in the refurbished cabins.

There will be a minimum cost. This is shown on a slider that you can move up and down to chose your amount.

We haven’t had the email. We booked business class anyway for the return flight but econ on the way out. Perhaps that’s why we didn’t get the email. Rx
