2 strollers and 2 car seats
Has anyone flown recently with Virgin and taken two strollers and car seats? Need one for 8 months baby and 4 year old.
Thank you Barbara |

Yes you can, but it’s a bloody nightmare at the airport juggling it all 🙈

Why not hire the car seats when you get there?

Did this last year. Car seats together in special bag made it easier. Had to juggle a bit but no real hassle

I've just got back from taking our 7 month old and 2 yr old. We took a double stroller and rear facing car seat for our youngest.
We hired a car seat for our toddler as hers at home is only ISOFiX. Cost us $70 to hire it, but be warned, you get no help fitting it. It's given to you and you have to work out fitting it yourself |

I can see why the agents wouldn't actually fit them as they would then be liable if any thing happened. In this country you need to be trained in fitting them even when selling them to fit them in a customer a car.

When we flew with Virgin I was intending to take a car seat with us but eventually decided against it after reading advice on here. I didn't think there was anyway we could have got through the airport with our luggage, one pushchair and one car seat so we relied upon the free car seat being provided by the car hire company. When we collected the car there was a huge selection of car seats to use and they were easy to fit (just like the kiddy pro we have here which doesn't need to be installed) and I was perfectly fine with that.
Each to their own but one of the deciding factors for me was the potential hassle of the car seat being damaged or lost in transit either at that end or coming home. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. |
