2 hr layover at PHL
Is this enough?
We received an e-mail today to advise that we land 10mins later than the last change we had. We now have 2 hrs at PHL (original booking before 2 changes was 2 hrs 35 mins). Is 2 hrs enough or should I be getting on to BA saying it is not enough?

Just noticed we’ve got the same as you now. Thanks for the heads up. BA are driving me crazy with their changes. Haven’t even informed me of this one.

It’s certainly on the lean end of things. However we successfully made our change in less than one hour last year when our flight was delayed. I’ve changed a PHL quite a few times, and have experience of doing the same at other US airports. IMO it is certainly one of the better airports for changing.
If ultimately you do miss your connection, providing it is on the same booking they are obliged to reschedule you. I’ve had that a couple of times and as flights are regular and as much UK flights land reasonably early in the day, I’ve been put on the next flight. Even though technically it’s not guaranteed as of course there needs to be room. |

Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly then as I’ve just looked at the timetable for that day and the next flight is 5.45pm and the one after that is 5am the day after.

It’s so stressful when the connection is missed, glad you got a flight later. Last time I missed a connection there was nothing available until the next day (26hrs). We opted to fly to Atlanta then catch an early morning flight so that we didn’t miss a whole day of our holiday.
Op I’ve done a tight connection and been okay but also missed connection and had the stress of working out other routes so that we do not miss too much holiday time. |

We were via Philly last year and it was a quick transit (quicker than Atlanta). Only issue we had was catering damaged the plane and we needed to switch to another one, but immigration was very quick beforehand and we would happily go is there again.
AA were much better than Delta and Virgin. |

We flew via Philly 3 weeks ago with a 2hr 10 mins connection.
We made it easily and had about 30 minutes to spare but the immigration hall was empty and our MAN-PHL flight did also land about 10 minutes early. I was definitely more than a little nervous with the short connection time but worked out ok for us in the end. |

You see. I don’t let things like that stress me out (any more). But I do fly for business as well.
I do however look at my options before going. The mentality I take is that at the connections being made is best case and plan A. If not, I just know what flight / hotels options are available for plan b. It important to make plans were plan b can be accommodated with long distance, so I don’t set meetings on travel days etc...Sometimes it can even work out. I’ve had (substantial) money back, upgrades, nice hotels with great pools... |

We’ve booked through ba.com so would they have to find us a hotel overnight if we could not get on the next flight and the one after that is the morning after. I know we’re flying with AA but should the responsibility be with AA or BA to sort us out as we are classed as being on a package because we have booked a car too?
