'Operated by BA' flights

What does operated by BA actually mean in reality? I'm looking at Skyscanner and 3 flights all with the same times are showing from Gatwick on the dates in may 2019 when we want to book. One is a BA return flight the other 2 are Iberia 'operated by BA' and Finnair'operated by BA'. The Iberia one is a bit cheaper.

It means they are codeshare flights. Iberia and Finnair are given a limited amount of seats to sell on the BA flight, they can then choose the price they wish to sell the tickets for which is why some are cheaper than others.

There will only be one flight and it will be operated by a BA aircraft.

BA code share with AA, Finnair and Iberia so "operated by BA" means you will fly on a BA plane.
