So glad my daughters still at school and not reading this, she is Pokemon obsessed if she knows she can turn it into pikachu she’s be on it straight away... although I do like the sound of a sarcastic Alexa... not using mine to it’s full potential clearly

Also, why do they have to change the name? It could still be called Alexa but have a man's voice (or Pikachu or whatever). Seems a bit presumptuous assuming that only women can be called Alexa.

Some of the news reports about this are a bit eye-opening...

Varies here. Currently female and Aussie. Really doesn't matter.

I'd change it to Scooby Doo, if that was an option. ...But the novelty would probably wear off quickly!

P.S. Making an issue of Alexa/Siri in this way detracts from and undermines genuine issues of bias/stereotyping, doesn't it?!

You can change the wake up word to somthing other than Alexa so that this doesn't happen
