Gatwick Valet Parking - early entry

Has anyone arrived early for the time slot? What happened?

We are now on AL on pre travel day so would like to travel down early. Just phoned lgw parking and the girl said we should be ok to arrive early (more than 2 hours) as it works in 24 hour blocks. We would have to take a ticket and get it validated on our return to the U.K. BUT she said if we want to make sure we could pay an amendment fee. She then said she thought we would be ok though? !

Anyone got any experience of this.?..? I am not sure whether to pay the extra or not.

We’ve been a few hours early (and late) before and it’s never an issue.

I did this last year. We were meant to be arriving at 11pm (straight to airport after a meal out), but the meal got changed to lunch. The amendment fee was going to cost more than the parking did in the first place! We arrived at about 4pm in the end. The barrier doesn't automatically register your number plate on arrival, so you just need to take a ticket. However, once we got up to the valet parking attendant, he just screwed up the ticket and said I could ignore that. Like you say, it works in 24 hour blocks, so as long as you don't go over into another 'block' you will be fine.
