Mobile BA, adding passenger advice

Hi all, after some advice if possible please. My 17 year old daughter has now decided she would like to come with us in October, we currently have a fly drive booked and got an amazing price as booked as soon as prices were released. Ba have told us we can’t add her on to our booking but could cancel and rebook, definitely not wanting to do this as price for our fly drive is more than double the price we paid. I am aware i could just book her a flight separately but this would mean full payment up front which at the moment I haven’t got. With only a few cheaper seats available on our flights does anyone have any ideas of how i can book with deposit only. Ba website says we cant add 1 nights accommodation as shes under 18, any advice would be greatly received 😁

Bear in mind that your daughter will be given a separate booking reference (called a PNR). Just make sure whoever you book through books the correct type of fare - will your daughter want to take a bag or will you want her to travel Hand Baggage Only(HBO). She may well end up with a seat away from you but at 17 that may not matter to her.

I had this problem a couple of years ago with BA / DS.

He was 19 though so may be slightly different.

I had to pay BA full price separately for his flight up front. He travelled on a separate locator however, BA made notes on ours and his that both numbers were travelling together. This was important as we were going indirect. I paid for him to have seat allocated next to us.

I had to get a bigger car. BA couldn't upgrade it without cancelling and rebooking. Actually the way things worked out with sales and exchange rate it worked out about the same cost.

Insurance. He had to have his own, but I went through a few hoops to make sure he had exactly the same policy, and again to make sure the insurance policies were tied together. This included getting assurance that if something happened to him on his Insurance my insurance would cover me staying and looking after him.

Your maybe slightly easier if your DD is still living with you and under 18.

A few things to sort out, but we had a lovely time and so glad he came.
Hope you and your DD enjoy your trip too.

Oh, I also had to change hotels in New York to a larger room. BA were fine with that bit changing.

Just the flight separate.

Thankyou for sharing your experience, glad all worked out well for you. The amount of times we asked our dd if she wanted to come with the reply no and now not long till we go shes changed her mind 🙄

Hello, sorry to hear your having this issue with BA, they should be able to arrange this for you by interlinking the bookings and not cancelling the whole booking to re book. We can helpwith this very easily by bookings your extra seats and cross referencing the bookings.

Its very standard practice and customer service, give one of our guys a call and let them know what flight your on, if you need to add one person to the accommodation then this can also be added at a very small admin cost to the hotel that BA should do. We do this on a daily basis and thats why booking with us would mean these simple request are handled quickly as opposed to being left on hold for ages and speaking to people who do not know how to handle such simple changes to a booking. Give Pam a call at Kenwood on 020 7749 9222, she will guide you and put your mind at rest. all the best.
