So with a month to go I’m starting think about what to pack. Oh who am I kidding? I’ve been packed for ages . Well not properly packed, just stuff arranged, rearranged, taken out, put back in etc. Since we’re PE coming home we have a case inside a case so I was worried about weight. With everything inside it weighs about 20kg so I should be fine.

I can’t decide how many pairs of sandals to take. Why am I so indecisive? I have 2 pairs of Skechers walking sandals and 2 of the mules with the yoga mat sole. Too much? Not enough? Just right?

Have you made an outfit plan? You could match up each pair of sandals to your outfits to see how often, if at all, you'll wear them.

I wouldn't say four pairs is too many. I have a pair of Adidas trainers,
a pair of Sketcher trainers, Sketchers sandals, Havianias flip-flops, a pair of nice sandals and a pair of Primark Minnie pumps that I'll probably just wear on the plane. That's my streamlined packing

I saw these on sale in the Sketchers shop in Edinburgh last month and I have been regretting not picking them ever since.

They are nice!

My problem is I buy stuff then feel I need to take it because I bought it so it’s probably best you didn’t buy them cos you’d just take them!

I’ve gotten to the point I don’t take “dressy” anymore, just comfy. They are all different colours so I would wear them with different outfits.

Having a catch up in your plans. Hotwire sounds great.
I would say just right, you need spare shoes in case a pair gets wet and just because you need them! As long as the droid fits to come home...

How was your trip?

I think you’re right about the sandals! And they weigh hardly anything!

The droid will fit, I’m sure. They look quite small. If not, I’ll carry it on the plane with me .

We had a fab time, really enjoyed Universal. We tried to have more pool time this year but the weather did spoil this on many occasions! We did eventually get into the pool at Royal Pacific, both at Cabana Bay and Portofino Bay. The thunderstorms have been epic, I’ve never heard thunder that loud in my life but the weather being a bit crazy did allow us time to sneak on to Hagrid’s unexpectedly that evening. We were definitely in the right place at the right time...from the queue opening outside the ride we were on the motorbike in 45 mins! It was amazing and we were certainly very lucky, perhaps the gods were eventually smiling on us-I had a bit of a disaster with my sunglasses in the fearless river and someone took the hubby’s water shoes while he was on the Ko’okiri drop slide so the day turned out well in the end

It’s frustrating when weather affects your plans but great news getting on Hagrids!

Small change of plans. We did have The Yachtsman booked for my birthday dinner but as that’s one of our Dolphin nights it seemed silly to spend time in a restaurant when we can be in a park, especially as we’ll want to do Fantasmic! To that end I’ve booked Mama Melrose for the dining package at lunch. The Yachtsman has been moved to another night.

You're as naughty as me! Any chance you might take the plunge and upgrade to TS before you leave? How are the maths looking?
