Firstly, hang in there to talk with someone. I got mine down from £90 to £53 with precious little effort. The price did go up after that to £56 as part of their price rise. We have every channel available for that.

If you cant get it down, leave. There are alternatives - BT, Virgin, FV, NowTV, Netflix etc,

It isn't a scam - it is what you sign up to.

Just because you dont like it doesn't mean it is a scam.

You have a choice.

Sick of sky & their prices. They just reply on you logging into your account to find out. I’ve just left them as my contract was up. I’ve had a faulty HD box for months & they won’t fix it unless I pay for someone to come out. I was a costumer for 18 years & you’d thought they’d want to keep me after all this time.

The ‘scam’ comes in with how the operators position it with you. I used to have phone, broadband and tv with Sky, and at one point I was sold a package whereby the operator told me I had free broadband - when I checked my bill, whilst the total I expected to pay was as agreed, they’d actually instead discounted both the line rental and the broadband but not given me ‘free’ broadband - I rang to complain, and I couldn’t get them to see what I was saying - my argument wasn’t with the price, but rather that as I had been given discounts rather than something free, that if & when prices increase, all aspects of my package would also increase. As it was, this was exactly what happened - I found the retentions managers great to deal with afterwards when I threatened to leave , but the initial operators would tell me different things every time I rang - very frustrating, that you have to complain to get someone who deals with you properly.

I’ve now moved to virgin media after 15 years with sky, and after everything I’ve said above, it was a hard decision, as I loved the sky products and when you got someone who knew what they were doing, they were brilliant, but sadly they don’t have fibre in our area at the moment, so we moved to virgin - so far so good, but I’ve only got the basic tv (to record and rewind now), as I prefer nowtv and Netflix for my pay for view tv options 👍 as another poster mentioned - I too chop and change, so that tends to mean I always have new films or box sets to watch! 👍

This is exactly why we left Sky about 6 months ago and just have Netflix instead.
Every week now we get a letter from Sky trying to tempt us back, "Only £17 a month" then small print at the bottom "price can change at any time" 🤣 they are a joke. I just wish we hadn't paid their stupid prices for years.

My agreed price after haggling was £32 a month. However, that lasted two months before it went up by over 10% due to their annual increases.

My sister worked out it took her almost 8 hours of live chat/telephone conversations to haggle down her price & she did in fact get a good deal but said it was bloody hard going. Think I am going to have a go at getting ours down.

I am going against the grain here albeit I don't have phone or broadband with Sky. For the rest I find the packages great and the customer service excellent.

I live on Outlook Calendar and have reminders for everything on there be it Sky, BT or British Gas etc.
Bang on contract expiration date I am on the phone for a new deal.

I tend to write offer end dates on my calendar but I’ve still ended up paying part of a month or so at the higher rate sometimes. Give them a ring and negotiate a new, better deal. I hate how we have to do this so often with Sky though, it takes half a day to sort just to get the right price.
Virgin media just the same with me. I have just been sent a message to say my package is going up £3 but as far as my contract goes my price is fixed till April next year . I will have to get on to them and find out what is happening.
