That's a Premium crossover, so better spec'ed than a Standard SUV but not as big as a Full Size.

Good result

Arrived yesterday at MCO, picked up a lovely Jeep Grand Cherokee with about 8,000 on the clock. Full spec inside with Sat Nav fitted so glad I didn't pay the additional fee! Will post pics later but it is a fairly high spec model. Great car.

Only thing that threw me when I arrived at MCO was I was looking on the Mid Size SUV line for 10mins before realizing I should have just gone straight to the straight to the SUV row. #youliveyoulearn

Just thought I’d give this thread a quick bump. Interested to see if the standard suv line has improved. Anyone got any updates in the last couple of weeks?

Just got back on Saturday after 3 weeks - posted earlier that in my arrival choice for standard SUV was actually pretty good. I ended up with a nice Explorer (sat nav, rear camera, 4wd).
There were also about 3 GMCs Arcadia with decent specs - but all with captain chairs in second row (so no good for me with 5 people + luggage).

On way back on Friday around 3pm - I had a look before going into airport and choice looked ok again. Couple of Arcadia’s and some Ford Edges. No explorers though.

As an aside. The staff now seem to understand / agree that the Explorer is a standard SUV (folk have had prev experience of them looking for upgrade $ for it).

Enjoy!

Sadly I can't help on Intermediates as I don't hire them. However we had a Mazda CX5 in March that sits in both the Intermediate and Standard classes, basically a flip flop model and it can be in either row.

What a lovely car and loads of gadgets. Plus full leather which I insist on, cannot abide cloth.
I drive a CX-5 Sport Nav model at home and agree it’s a great car!

However, I didn’t realise it was also classed as a Standard SUV. We can just about squeeze three large cases and a small case in the boot arranged carefully. We will have 4 large cases when we go this time (plus one more on the way back most likely!) so we’ve booked a standard SUV again as last time we had a 7 seater Santa Fe from the Standard line, which with the rear seats down was plenty big enough for the 4 of us plus our luggage.

As much as I love my CX-5 , I wouldn’t be happy with that as it simply won’t fit all our luggage when we are going home.

We arrived on July 18th and were told they had no Full size SUV’s, we were given a Chevy Suburban instead.

Sorry didn’t read your post properly, we had full size booked so can’t answer re standard suv’s.

Hit the Alamo garage at circa 6.30pm today, were slowed down as we couldn't use Global Entry as the Granddaughter is with us!

Excellent choice of Standard SUVs

2 Ford Edges so I grabbed a newish one on Kentucky plates. The other one was also good.
A load of Dodge Journeys, yuk
No Jeep Grand Cherokees
Plenty of Kia's that looked good
Toyota 4 Runner
Dodge Equinox
Santa Fe's
Dodge Caravan

Apart from the Caravan it looked like all the vehicles were Standard and no Intermediates mixed in.

Edit. Just remembered, an Arcadia was pulling out as we strolled up the line.

👍Sounds like a good choice I hope there’s that much choice when I arrive on Friday

Sounds a good choice. I had gone with dollar next March due to the poor choice myself and others have had in recent trips but changed it last week to go back with Alamo. Just because I prefer the skip the counter and I’ve never had any unexpected fees when I come home from alamo, I can only hope for a good choice when I get there.
Out interest what are the Edge’s like. I’ve seen many on uk roads(titanium sport) and they look good but over there it looked small and no where near as sporty maybe that’s becuau of all the other vehicles on the roads. Any chance of some pictures?

I will post some pictures late today. Just heading out for some food then to change resorts to SSR.

The car seems to be about the size of my X3 and drives well. No Sat Nav though even though it’s a Titanium model. Not that I want it though
