It's horrible. I've been checking every day until yesterday! Hope they decide not to strike at all.

We are looking at BA flights for next year but have this nagging doubt because of the threatened strikes this year. Holding off booking anything ...

Not booking an airline for next year because they might strike this year ? Any carrier *could* strike next year so you might be overthinking things a tiny bit !

Yes but BA are more likely to do this, their crew never seem satisfied with their lot

It's certainly put us off using BA again. This is our first and last flight with them. It isn't just this potential strike - it's their historical employment problems (which we didn't look at beforehand!) and the total lack of communication or thought for customers who have booked and are feeling in limbo.

What more would you expect them to communicate before strike dates are announced by the union ?
They can't tell you "you won't get delayed" or "your flight won't be cancelled" at this point but nor could any other airline.
Historically BA are proactive when hit by strikes and their alliance with AA will be used for first line protection.
No one likes strikes but no one seems to feel the pilots demands are reasonable either and passengers will be the first to moan if fares increase to meet what is taken to be unreasonable demands either.
Of all the airlines serving the US , B-A historically seem to handle industrial action best. I'm still in the "red zone" and with a cruise two days after we arrive very delay sensitive but I'm not unduly concerned at this point.

I think many people who have been posting on this thread feel (or have at least commented the same) that the occasional statement / update regarding the ongoing situation would have been nice.

I agree it would be nice for them to tell us more of what was going on, but as far as BA themselves are concerned, it's business as usual until any time BALPA decide to call a strike. They can't warn you about a strike if nothing has been called.

I read on flyertalk (dont shoot the messenger) that BALPA have rejected the latest BA offer! No other information.

I just need them to hold out on any announcements for a few more days 😩 Fingers, toes and everything else crossed for a resolution to put everyone’s minds at rest about their flights 👍🏻
