AK after hours, new dates released

I'm not sure if others are waiting but they've released the dates for the animal kingdom after hours event up to February today.
Unfortunately doesn't fit in with our plans so will have to pass this time.

Hi is this worth doing ? We have a day planned there in Nov at the moment but thinking this may be better ? Do you still get to book Fp or are they not needed for these events ? Thanks

We definitely didn't need FPs at the MK event. It was walk on for every ride! Not sure re AK but hoping it is the same...

You won't need FP during the event, but (assuming you do not have a regular park ticket) you get entry to the park a few hours before the event starts and you are allocated three FPs then.

We went to the AK after hours event in February, we had regular park tickets. At that time of year the event was 8pm - 11pm

We arrived from another park at around 5pm and used our final FP of the day on Navi River, then we headed for dinner at Tiffins before the event started.

We had never seen Pandora before so we headed straight there and onto FoP. We caught the end of the regular day guests queue and it was about 15-20 minutes wait that time. However we went straight back round afterwards and walked on three or four more times, only stopping for the compulsory pre-shows. We then went on Na'vi again. I would not go to Pandora first next time.

After that we headed to the other end of the park and went on Everest, one of our favourite rides numerous times, love it in the dark. I think the only other two things on were Dinosaur and Its tough to be a bug and I believe they did a ROL show, but we are not bothered about that and didn't watch it.

There are a few drink stations dotted around and maybe popcorn stands, there was not much chance to get snacks, which was fine for us as we had dinner and we will have dinner beforehand next time.

I couldn't decide whether to do this one or the one at MK. There are a lot more rides open at MK than at AK, but I picked this one in the end as we had never been to Pandora and I knew FoP was a hard to get FP and had long lines. Whereas in MK we generally have always managed to get extra FP during the day there.

Edit: Only available one day of my trip.. the day I fly home. So disappointing! Oh well, money saved I guess.

Yes they should - Disney transport from parks back to the Disney resorts run until late (and I was once told by a CM that they keep running until the parks are "clear").
