Say hello to Cookie!

So since our beloved Spikey crossed the rainbow bridge back in March, we've been a catless household.

We live in a second floor flat with no garden, so any cat has to be an 'indoor cat'. Spikey was deaf so that settled that.

Then a friend contacted me to say that someone we both knew was moving into a council house with her daughters, but the housing association wouldn't let them take the cat, and could we help?

The cat had only ever lived in a flat, so that wasn't a problem.

And so it was that last Thursday we welcomed Cookie into our home. She is a tortie, nearly two, and at the moment still very shy. She spends most of the time under one of our two sofas, and we spend a lot of time lying on the floor trying to entice her out with Dreamies!

She is getting bolder though. I woke up about 2.30 am on Monday morning to see her sitting on the bedroom windowsill, regarding me with interest! She let me stroke her a little but doesn't seem sure yet.

Anyway, here she is, and let's hope she comes out more often soon and lets us have some kitty cuddles.

Gill, she is gorgeous. Funnily enough, one of our our budgies is called Cookie, I can only imagine what would happen if they met though 😁
