Thanks all - ba flydrive Avis at Tampa, unexpected extra charges

Returned my car today.. I returned it with 0.3 gallon less than when collected.. If they charge me there will be questions..

I have just posted a thread as we have been charged on our credit card as we had three rentals and we always returned on full. Wish I had seen this earlier. I’ve rented from Avis every year but this year they seem to be untrustworthy. Our flight landed early and instead of amending the pick up time they charged us for a whole extra day for 45 mins. Lucky I spotted that.

Perhaps if enough people post on their Facebook and Twitter pages ( perhaps BA's pages aswell) they will be shamed into stopping these bad practices. Avis staff are obviously incentivised to sell these packages to boost probably very low wages. If enough bad publicity is created then they might have a re-think and stop trying to fleece customers. People will vote with their feet and that will hit BA aswell because people wont book flydrives with them if they are going to have to battle to get money back for "extras" they never agreed to.
