I hope your daughter is ok? Really feel for you all - we had to miss our flight to Spain a couple of years ago as DS and I were v ill with food poisoning symptoms overnight before we flew. Aviva insurance were great and refunded the cost of the missed flights for all 4 of us and we booked other flights a couple of days later so managed to enjoy our hols eventually! We did go to the GP and got fit to fly letters in case but no one checked anything. Sending positivity to you all x

OP I hope your daughter is ok and you manage to get on your holiday. Just a word of warning, you must get a fit to fly certificate and ensure that it is noted down on her medical notes otherwise your insurance will be void. I would call BA explain the situation and see what they say.

Totally agree, my son has had an organ transplant and is immunospressed and chicken pox can be deadly for him and other people with immune system problems.

So unless things have changed a good deal, you may be able to rebook for a later date although they won't refund your money.

You should taken your paediatrians advice and not flown. The supervisor needs retraining, or sacked! I'm not quite understanding your post about refunding the tickets. Did you expect the airline to refund your money so you could hire a car?
